BUSINESS ECONOMICS / FINANCE / RESEARCH
Curiosity with
direction.
I'm Tammy, a Business Economics student at UC San Diego pursuing a minor in Finance. Through economic research, campus involvement and the opportunities I seek out, I'm building my understanding of how people and businesses make decisions. I'm especially interested in finance and investment research, and I'm always looking for new ways to learn and contribute.

A little
about me.
I'm Tammy, a third-year Business Economics student at UC San Diego pursuing a minor in Finance. I'm interested in finance, economic research and understanding the decisions that shape businesses, but I'm equally interested in the people and experiences behind those decisions.
One thing I've come to appreciate throughout college is how much there is to learn when you're willing to put yourself in new environments. My experience with economic research has given me opportunities to approach questions more analytically, while getting involved in organizations like Women in Business and the Undergraduate Economics Society has introduced me to new perspectives and conversations about the paths I could pursue.
I'm someone who enjoys asking questions, taking initiative and learning from people with different experiences. As I continue exploring opportunities in finance, investment research and consulting, I'm looking for work that challenges me, gives me room to grow and allows me to contribute something meaningful along the way.
02 / RESEARCH & ANALYSIS
Following the questions.
From an idea worth exploring to evidence worth understanding.

SLEEP RESEARCH PROJECT · CHENNAI, INDIA
Learning to look a little closer.
Through my involvement in a research project examining sleep in Chennai, India, I've had the opportunity to learn about research design and how researchers approach questions about people's everyday lives.
What draws me to research is the opportunity to look more closely at a question, understand the reasoning behind an approach and learn what the evidence can actually tell us.
Research responsibilities and specific contributions will be added after review.
03 / COMMUNITY
Learning through people.
Some of the most valuable experiences I've had outside the classroom have come from conversations with people whose interests, experiences and perspectives are different from mine.
Being involved with UC San Diego's Women in Business and Undergraduate Economics Society has given me opportunities to attend professional development events, learn about different career paths and connect with students who share similar interests.
I've especially enjoyed the conversations that leave me with something new to think about, whether that's a different perspective on an industry, an opportunity I hadn't considered or an idea I want to explore further.

04 / OUTSIDE THE CLASSROOM
Beyond the résumé.
Outside of school, I enjoy golfing, hot yoga and spending time at the beach. I appreciate having interests that give me a change of pace from academics and opportunities to enjoy life outside of my usual routine.
A little more of the person behind the work.

05 / LET'S CONNECT
Good conversations
start somewhere.
Interested in connecting about finance, research or new opportunities? I'd love to hear from you.
